Junior / Intermediate Tailings Planner

We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and goal-oriented engineer to work with our North American reseller – Muk3D (Canada) Inc – to help with the sales and support of our Muk3D suite of 3D modelling and simulation tools.
Role Description
We are looking for a dedicated tailings planner/engineer with a strong technical background to provide exceptional support for our modeling software users across North America. The engineer will play a critical role in assisting customers with software-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and delivering effective solutions to complex problems. This position requires a solid understanding of 3D CAD modelling (preferably some Muk3D experience), excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in tailings planning, a willingness to travel to remote locations, a strong desire to learn and enthusiasm to work with our small, focused, global team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote desktop sessions.
Diagnose and troubleshoot software issues, including installation, configuration, and usage problems.
Collaborate with customers to understand their modeling needs and provide guidance on software functionality and best practices.
Work with clients to create tailings deposition plans under the direction of their planning teams.
Development of Python scripts to help customers with basic automation of Muk3D and to integrate tailings plans in Excel or GoldSim with Muk3D models.
Work closely with the software development team to escalate and prioritize software bugs and feature requests.
Assist in the creation of knowledge base articles, user guides, and training materials.
Deliver training sessions and webinars to educate customers on software capabilities and updates.
Stay current with industry trends around global standards, and emerging modeling and tailings technologies.
Assist with the promotion of Muk3D at conferences and trade shows across North America.
Qualifications
Canadian permanent resident or be legally authorised to work in Canada, and be able to travel to the USA.
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in civil/geotechnical/mining engineering or a related field of study.
1 - 5 years of relevant professional experience in tailings planning, civil design, or mining engineering.
Experience in tailings planning or management is desirable.
Experience with 3D CAD tools (Muk3D, Civil3D, mine design tools) and GoldSim is an asset.
A reasonable understanding of Python or another programming language.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Willingness to travel nationally and possibly internationally.
Ability to work independently, onsite, and in remote locations.
